Former mayor wins first place in bodybuilding competition

MIAMI (WSVN) -- Two years after being recalled, former Miami-Dade Mayor, Carlos Alvarez has proven he's still a strong mayor.Alvarez traded in his shirt and tie for just his briefs as an amateur bodybuilder.

Alvarez recently took first place at the South Florida Over 60's Master's Bodybuilding Competition.

The win qualified him for a chance to flex his pecks at a national event.
