Teen charged in deadly school bus shooting

MIAMI (WSVN) -- A South Florida teen has been charged as an adult in a deadly school bus shooting.

Prosecutors formally charged Jordyn Howe in the death of Lourdes Guzman DeJesus on Wednesday.

The 15-year-old wasn't present for the hearing. The victim's family was content with the state's decision. "He should pay for what he did, he has to pay as an adult," said De Jesus' mother Ady Guzman-DeJesus. "It teaches kids [that] this is what you get if you do things you're not supposed to do. At least he'll pay for what he did."

Howe stands accused of shooting DeJesus on a school bus in Homestead, last November.

Police said it appears to have been an accident.
