Family of tow truck accident victim file lawsuit

LAUDERHILL, Fla. (WSVN) -- The family of a man killed in a tow truck accident last week filed a negligence suit against the towing company and the driver.

Thirty-eight-year-old Elias Konwufine, an associate dean at Keiser University, died after being run over Jan. 16. Authorities say the victim jumped onto the tow truck as his car was being towed from his Lauderhill home.

His family says he was dragged for hundreds of feet.
