City worker arrested for stealing

HIALEAH, Fla. (WSVN) -- A Hialeah city worker has been arrested for allegedly stealing.

According to police, Ivis Valdes was allegedly pocketing utility payments and ripping off thousands of dollars from the city.

Valdes has been an employee of the city for 16 years and recently worked for the water and sewer department.

So far, $5,200 have been returned. She is on paid leave pending the investigation.

Valdes has been charged with grand theft.
