Storage unit catches fire overnight

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (WSVN) -- Authorities are investigating a fire that broke out at a South Florida storage warehouse.

The fire started at around 4:20 a.m. Friday in a unit at the warehouse on 12th Street and Northwest Eighth Avenue. Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue arrived on scene to find the structure engulfed in flames.

It took about 30 firefighters to extinguish the blaze. The M&M Auto Body Shop and another warehouse that neighbor the storage warehouse were not affected.

The fire re-ignited about an hour later but was quickly put out.

Fire investigators are looking into the cause of the blaze.
