Police arrest fugitive in South Florida

CORAL GABLES, Fla. (WSVN) -- A man accused of murder is waking up behind bars, Thursday morning after being on the run for six years.

Federal agents arrested 33-year-old Edgar Alvarez, Wednesday for the shooting death of a man near Los Angeles, California back in 2006.

Officials tracked Alvarez to Mexico, Las Vegas and Tennessee before finally finding him in South Florida.
