Police arrest man accused of sexually assaulting child

WILTON MANORS, Fla. (WSVN) -- A child housed at a Kids in Distress facility has become a victim of yet another sexual assault.
Police arrested Brian Fields, and they have charged him with 12 counts of lewd and lascivious molestation of a child on Thursday.
Authorities said Fields, 31, has worked the night shift at the facility for 10 years. Police said there were four different incidents where sex acts occurred between him and the 15-year-old girl.
According to Wilton Manors Police, the 15-year-old girl was also the victim in another sexual assault committed by a different man, Brian Denby. Denby was arrested after allegedly assaulting the victim and another teen at the Kids in Distress facility back on Jan. 7. "During counseling from the first incident, her counselor heard this information and immediately alerted kids in Distress administration, and they suspended the employee," said Wilton Manors Police Sergeant Shawn Chadwick. "We investigated and our detectives yesterday arrested this subject, Mr. Fields."
Kids in Distress CEO Mark Dhooge said he feels betrayed. "You know, not only do we feel betrayed, we also feel a significant responsibility to the community," said Dhooge. "We have been a trusted agency for over 35 years with an untarnished record. Yes, we are very betrayed."
A judge is holding Fields on a $120,000 bond at the Broward County Jail. He was also ordered not to have any contact with any children, especially at the Kids in Distress facility.
According to Kids in Distress officials, Fields has been fired.
Kids in Distress are now making changes to their program.
