Residents evacuated from burning apartment building

LAUDERHILL, Fla. (WSVN) -- Lauderhill Fire Rescue have evacuated an apartment building after fierce flames erupted inside one of the units, Friday morning.
Smoke poured through the roof of the building, located at 1192 N State Road 7. One resident said, as soon as he stepped out of his apartment, there was smoke billowing down the fifth floor.
According to firefighters, the fire originated in unit 516. Crews used their ladder truck to rescue two women from adjacent apartments.
Luckily, firefighters said, no one was injured.
The cause of the fire is now under investigation.
Officials said the building will be inspected before residents are allowed back in.
