Hialeah police officer shoots man

HIALEAH, Fla. (WSVN) -- Police in Hialeah said they were forced to fire, sending one man to the hospital Friday night.

The shooting happened at the intersection of West 4th Avenue and 21st Street.

According to authorities, the officer who discharged the weapon deemed it necessary to shoot an adult male.

No other details about the incident were released.

The man was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital in stable condition.
