MIAMI (WSVN) -- Police have released new clues in a violent robbery where crooks opened fire inside a South Florida convenience store and shot a worker multiple times.

According to police, a man entered a convenience store in the corner of Northwest Seventh Avenue and 64th Street, Saturday morning and ordered a woman to the ground at gunpoint. The crook then demanded money out of the drawer from an employee.

The store employee complied with the demands and gave the suspect the money. The suspect then pistol-whipped the man in the head. As the suspect was trying to get away, another suspect shot the victim, identified as Shawgy Mohamed, several times. Both then fled the scene. "The two subjects leave the store, and at that moment, one of the subjects tells the other subject, 'Kill him! We already shot him,'" said Miami Police Department Sergeant Freddie Cruz. "They continued to and started firing at him with a shotgun and a revolver, over 10 times. We have to catch these animals off the street before they do it again."

Mohamed was rushed to Jackson Memorial Hospital. He survived but is breathing through a ventilator.

Police believe both suspects are connected to another robbery that occurred one hour before, at a 7-Eleven on Pembroke Road in Miramar.

Police have recovered the stolen black F-150 the men fled the scene with but are still on the hunt for the shooters. They describe the suspects as black males between 5 feet and 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing about 150 pounds and between the ages 18 and 20 years old.

One of the crooks was wearing a dark sweater and a cloth covering his face. The other was wearing a light sweater with a red cloth covering his face.

If you have any information on these crooks, call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS. Remember, you can always remain anonymous, and you may be eligible for a reward.
