Person believed inside submerged car in lake

COCONUT CREEK, Fla. (WSVN) -- Divers searching a lake where a car is submerged believe there may be a victim inside the vehicle.

Margate Fire Rescue and Coconut Creek Police responded to the murky lake located just east of Lyons Road on Wiles Road, Tuesday morning after someone noticed a fence and bushes surrounding the lake were disturbed.

Fire Rescue divers were then called out and went in and found the vehicle, and they believe they saw a person still inside.

Crews are working to extricate the vehicle from the lake to investigate further.

One woman said people are known to speed on the roadway near the lake. "It's a dangerous road because there are really no lights or anything, so people do go zooming on this roadway," said Heidi Kind.
