1 dead in collision involving tractor-trailor

SOUTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, Fla. (WSVN) -- Authorities are investigating a fatal accident involving a semi-trailer truck.

The accident happened Wednesday at about 6 a.m. near Krome Avenue and Southwest 88th Street.

Investigators said the tractor collided with a vehicle, killing one person. The impact destroyed the car.

The accident shut down Krome Avenue from Eighth Street to 88th Street for hours, causing heavy traffic delays during the morning commute.
