Christians celebrate Ash Wednesday

MIAMI (WSVN) -- Millions of Christians around the world observed Ash Wednesday.

Today marks the first day of Lent, a season of prayer and preparation ahead of Easter.

Archbishop Tomas Wenski led a special mass at Gesu Church in Miami Wednesday afternoon.

Lent lasts six and a half weeks, ending on Easter Day.
