1 dead in tractor trailer collision

SOUTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, Fla. (WSVN) -- Police are on the scene of a fatal collision involving a tractor trailer and a car.

The crash occurred in the area of Southwest 192nd Street and Krome Avenue, Friday.

A tractor trailer was traveling southbound on Krome Avenue and a vehicle was crossing along 192nd Street when the two collided at the intersection.

The car was dragged by the tractor trailer into a grassy area where the driver was pinned inside.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, the driver died on the scene.

Krome had to be shut down in both directions for several hours, but the road has since re-opened.
