Joe Martinez set to run for Congress

MIAMI (WSVN) -- Longtime South Florida politician Joe Martinez is running for Congress.

According to The Miami Herald, Martinez is looking into going up against Joe Garcia for the District 26 seat in 2014.

Martinez spent 12 years on the Miami-Dade commission.

He gave up his seat last year for an unsuccessful challenge to Miami-Dade Mayor Carlos Gimenez.
