Families take part in Rubber Duck Derby

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (WSVN) -- Competitors in South Florida geared up for the Rubber Duck Derby.

The annual Duck Fest Derby was hosted by the JM Family Enterprises.

The New River in Fort Lauderdale became a sea of yellow as 15,000 ducks drifted down the river.

The owner of the duck crossing the finish line first won a grind prize Las Vegas getaway.

The family-friendly event held to benefit the Kids in Distress organization.
