GRAPEVINE, Tx. (WSVN) -- A Miami-Dade detective attacked by a criminal during a cross country trip is expected to be back home soon.
Detective Jaime Pardinas was released Sunday from a Texas hospital after getting stabbed in the neck and back at a Walmart in Grapevine.
A group of officers were taking prisoner Alberto Morales to Nevada.
Police said Morales stabbed Pardinas with a sharp piece from his eyeglasses.
Forty-two-year-old Morales was shot and killed Saturday night in a wooded area near a lake in northern Texas after a four-day manhunt.
