'Explosive' device deemed harmless

WEST MIAMI-DADE, Fla. (WSVN) -- Authorities have confirmed that a suspicious device spotted in the rear of a home is not dangerous.

Monday afternoon, police received reports of a possible mortar round located behind a residence along Fountainebleau Boulevard.

Residents of the Oakview Condominium complex were evacuated as a precaution, while bomb squad and Haz-Mat crews located the item.

Officials later deemed the object harmless.
