Crews begin installing sea wall along A1A

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (WSVN) -- Crews have begun working on a new sea-wall along the shore of Collins Avenue on Fort Lauderdale Beach.

On Monday, crews began installing steel pillars into the ground between 14th Court and 18th Street. Residents can expect to hear loud banging and feel vibrations as crews drive the huge steel pillars into the ground.

Last year, waves from Hurricane Sandy ravaged the sidewalk and buckled the road, sending sand and sea water onto the street.
