SoBe Wine & Food Festival kicks off Thursday

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. (WSVN) -- Food preparations are underway for the South Beach Wine & Food Festival.

Students from Florida International University are working with top chefs for Thursday night's BBQ kick off to the South Beach Wine & Food Festival.

The event, in it's 12th year, promises to dazzle with only the best vino and South Florida's unique culinary arts. "Right now, what you see behind me, what we have, is a team of students from the Chaplin School of Hospitality preparing for the BBQ," said FIU professor Michael Morgan. "Thirty-five chefs, thousand portions of food each chef; so 35,000 portions of food, chefs from all over the country."

The Wine & Food Festival starts Thursday, Feb. 21 until Sunday, Feb. 24. Doors open for the BBQ event at 6:15 p.m. till 7 p.m.
