Alvin Ailey returns to So. Fla.

MIAMI (WSVN) -- A show returning to South Florida is celebrating a milestone.

The Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater came off a 21 U.S.-city tour to sold out crowds. The company will be back in Miami to perform.

The company is celebrating it's Fifth anniversary with performances at the Adrienne Arsht Center this weekend.

The artistic director of the company said it felt good to be home. "Always coming home for me, it does recharge the battery, if you will," said Robert Battle. "It reminds me of where I came from in a very real way, and it reminds me of that young person with wide eyes first seeing the Ailey Company, first seeing Alvin Ailey's 1960 masterpiece 'Revelations.'"

The company will have their first performance Thursday night. The shows will go on through Sunday.
