Accused hit-and-run driver charged with DUI

MIAMI (WSVN) -- Police charged an accused hit-and-run driver with DUI after a man was struck in the street.

Police arrested 31-year-old Willie Pitts.

He allegedly struck a man early Saturday morning while the victim was crossing Northwest 134 Street at Northwest 12th Avenue.

Police said he took off. They found him five blocks away asleep behind the wheel.

The victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
