Hundreds get messy in tomato fight

MIAMI (WSVN) -- An international mess fest was brought right here to South Florida.

About 1,000 people participated in La Tomatina Tomato Fight Festival at Tobacco Road in Brickell Saturday.

Twenty-five thousand tomatoes were ready and ripe for tossing.

The smash and bash lasted for an hour.

The event started almost 60 years ago in Spain as a part of a festival.
