MIAMI (WSVN) -- Hip-hop entertainer Pitbull went above and beyond a common display of celebrity gratitude for an ailing fan when he posted a message for her on YouTube.

About nine days ago, 25-year-old Lani Lopez, a longtime admirer of the popular music star, ended up at the intensive care unit at Jackson Memorial Hospital. After many tests, the Miami native was finally diagnosed with myocarditis, an inflammation of the heart muscle. At first, Lani's diagnosis was uncertain, but her condition improved, and she is expected to be fine.

In hopes of raising her spirits, Lani's friends used social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) to reach out to Pitbull, whom she considers her favorite artist, in hopes that he would call her. "It's been one of her biggest dreams to meet him," said Rick Landera, Lopez's fiance.

Within 24 hours, Pitbull not only called her but also posted a message to her on YouTube. "You inspire me, you motivate me, and make me realize what life is about," said Pitbull in his video.

"Words cannot express how grateful I am to my group of friends," Lopez said. "I'm just truly blessed."

Friends and family are now raising money for her medical bills. If you would like to contribute, go to: http://www.gofundme.com/23w2o8
