Hialeah police receive new cruisers, SUVs

HIALEAH, Fla. (WSVN) -- The Hialeah Police Department received an order of new cruisers and sport utility vehicles, Wednesday.
The department showcased the 32 Ford sedans and 10 SUVs at their headquarters before their inaugural patrol.
"The primary purpose is to get them out there, enhance the job that our officers are doing in the street," said Hialeah Police detective Carl Zogby. "These are modern tools. This is state-of-the-art stuff, and we know that the response to the public and the job that we do will improve because of it," he continued.
The fleet of Navy blue vehicles was not financed with taxpayer money. The city bought them with funds confiscated from criminal investigations.
