Firefighter rescues distressed raccoon

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. (WSVN) -- A South Florida firefighter rescued a raccoon that had a can stuck on its head.
The baby raccoon was dropped off outside the Coral Springs Fire Department in a box. The raccoon's head was stuck in a metal can, with a note attached to it that read: "I got stuck in a dumpster and got a soup can stuck on my head. It won't come off. Please help me. Thank you."
A video courtesy of the Coral Springs Fire Department shows a firefighter removing the can from the raccoon's head. The firefighter carefully cut the metal can and set the animal free.
That firefighter spoke about the unusual rescue. "I put my gloves on and coat on, opened up the bag and sure enough it was a raccoon with its head stuck in a soup can," he said. "I went and got a pair of tin snips, made a couple cuts and he wasn't very happy about it, yanked his head out and took off running."
It appeared as if the animal was not injured.
As for who wrote the note, the mystery remains...
