SOUTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, Fla. (WSVN) -- A nasty wreck left one man dead. Police said a speeding driver side-swiped a car.

"I knew as soon as I saw him," said Mark Nagy. "His eyes were wide open. I knew he was deceased right away."

Police said the driver of a Hyundai was 27 years old. The man lost his life at around noon on Saturday when the drier of another car slammed into him.

Allegedly, this was her second crash of the day. "She hit another car," said Gabriel Larrazabal, "and then she tried to get away like a hit and run and she kept on going and she was speeding down."

"I heard a bang," said a witness. "I heard screeching, I heard another bang and then it hit the tree."

Miami-Dade Police said the woman may in fact have been involved in another crash with a white or gray van on Sunset Drive and Southwest 147th Avenue.

When she allegedly sped away from that scene, she then slammed into the back of the Hyundai. "From the position of the car," said a witness, "it looks like he was headed west but he was actually heading east and he hit the tree so hard right at the door that it just whipped around the tree."

Police are questioning the woman who they believe caused the fatal crash and would also like to talk to the driver of the gray or white van involved in the first crash.

If you are that driver, police ask that you call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS. Remember, you can always remain anonymous, and you may be eligible for a reward.
