Woman left with broken legs after hit-and-run

BOCA RATON, Fla. (WSVN) -- Police are searching for a woman who hit another woman with her car.
A woman was hit by a car at around 8:15 a.m. on Friday morning as she was heading home from a local Publix.
The woman was crossing Boca Del Mar when he mother said she felt a car hit her from behind. The woman fell forward onto the ground and was badly injured.
The driver of the vehicle got out of the car and approached the woman to help and even helped her into her car and left.
The victim was able to get back to her apartment but then realized she could not move. The driver of the vehicle is now nowhere to be found.
Police and the woman's family are searching for the driver who hit her who they believe works in the medical field because the woman said she was wearing scrubs when she hit her.
The woman was taken to the hospital and is being treated. Both of the woman's legs are completely broken.
Now the family is desperate to find the driver. "She knew she couldn't walk," said the victim's mother Pat Martin. "She pulled herself up on the hood of the car and put all of her weight on it and worked herself around the car, got in and sat down."
"When my sister asked for her contact information," said Chris Duvoisin, "it was probably very to say, 'You know, that woman can't walk, she's sitting on a couch in her apartment, I know that she can't even get up. I'll just drive away."
The 54-year-old victim had to call police on her own. She said she screamed loud enough to get a neighbor's attention and couldn't even reach the phone.
The victim's family believes the woman who hit her is a medical professional because she was wearing scrubs at the time.
If you have any information on the woman responsible, call Palm Beach Crime Stoppers at 1-800-458-TIPS. Remember, you can always remain anonymous, and you may be eligible for a reward.
