Man charges at officers with knife

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (WSVN) -- Police were forced to fire shots during a confrontation with an armed man on Sunday.

They say the man charged at officers with a knife outside a home along Northeast 3rd Street and 17th Avenue in Fort Lauderdale.

According to police, he was ordered to put the knife down but refused, forcing police to shoot.

He was taken to the hospital where he died.
