Semi-truck carrying palm trees catches fire

WESTON, Fla. (WSVN) -- Florida Highway Patrol said a semi-truck carrying palm trees caught fire after blowing a tire.
The blaze sparked at around 6:30 a.m. Tuesday in the southbound lanes of Interstate 75. FHP said the tire blew just north of Interstate 595 and the friction caused the trees in the trailer to catch fire.
The fire sent thick plumes of smoke into the air.
The truck driver was able to detach the trailer preventing the fire from spreading and causing more damage.
It took crews about half an hour to put out the flames, forcing commuters into one lane of traffic.
All lanes have since reopened, and no one was injured.
