MIAMI LAKES, Fla. (WSVN) -- Residents in Miami Lakes voiced their concerns again over a potential flight risk.
The town's mayor received letters from several residents concerned about the FAA's plan to possibly close the air traffic control tower at neighboring Opa-Locka Airport.
Many residents are worried about pilots flying in and out of the airport without proper guidance.
The FAA said it may shut down the tower due to federal budget cuts, due to the sequester.
The Department of Transportation expects a final decision will be made by Mar. 18.
