MIAMI BEACH, Fla. (WSVN) -- Police believe a man in his 20s, who was found dead on a local beach, washed ashore.

The discovery was made Thursday morning off of Collins Avenue and 25th Street. Police found the naked man's body on the sand with no signs of trauma. His clothes were found nearby.

Students from the EF International School, located just just a few hundred feet from where the body was discovered, were curious when they saw rescue trucks. "I saw the policeman just going to the beach, so we went there and we saw a dead body, and it was so incredible," said Alexandra Mathieo. "It's the first time I've seen that in my life. It was so scary."

The coroner's office removed the body thereafter.

Another student commented on the tragic discovery. "He has a mother and father and brothers, everything. He may have a job, wife, you never know," said Shirley Cohen.

A police spokesman said detectives were waiting for the results of an autopsy, but in the meantime, they are providing pictures of the deceased man to students of EF to see if anyone can recognize him.
