2 workers dead after machinery mishap

PORT EVERGLADES, Fla. (WSVN) -- The Broward Sheriff's Office deputies said two workers are dead and one is seriously injured after a piece of machinery toppled over at Port Everglades, Friday morning.

BSO said the construction workers were doing some routine maintenance on a bridge lift when a scissor lift fell over. Broward Fire Rescue  transported one worker to Broward Health Medical Center in critical condition. The other two died on the scene.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration has sent officials to the scene to investigate.
