Driver of van slams into FHP cruiser

NORTH MIAMI, Fla. (WSVN) -- The driver of a van has been cited for DUI after slamming into the back of a Florida Highway Patrol cruiser.

The accident happened Monday afternoon as Skyforce HD cameras captured the scene along Interstate 95 and Northeast 135th Street. FHP said a trooper was tending to a disabled vehicle when a van got into an accident.

It remains unclear if the trooper was actually hit or just the cruiser. 

Rescue crews transported the trooper to an area hospital in stable condition.

The driver of the van of was also transported and later cited for DUI, resulting in property damage and injuries.
