SOUTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, Fla. (WSVN) -- Police are searching for the crooks who targeted a South Florida bike shop for the second time in just three days.

Businesses along Bird Road in Southwest Miami-Dade say they are being targeted by thieves in the middle of the night.

The latest victim, the owner of a sports bike shop, has been robbed twice in just three days. Last Friday, crooks broke in through the front door and stole motorcycles along with other gear. On Tuesday, the thieves broke into the shop for the second time and smashed through the two doors and took off with two bikes.

The owner of the bike shop did not want to comment on the situation.

Nearby business neighbors said crime has been a big problem in the area for years. "Everyone has been hit here. We have been hit five times here over the course of eight years," said Moby Bengozhea who owns a business nearby. "I always said that cops should patrol this area a little more. It's highly industrial."

Tom Mendoza said they have broken into his business several times in recent years. "They actually tore down our gate to get into our backyard here before, and I think they took a couple of ladders and took out the air condition," said Mendoza.

Business owners said they are putting up alarm systems and security cameras to protect their business. "It would be nice if there was more police presence here," said Mendoza.

If you have any information on these robberies, call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS. Remember, you can always remain anonymous, and you may be eligible for a reward.
