Artist causes scare with WWII bomb replica

MIAMI (WSVN) -- A South Florida man alarmed his neighbors after someone noticed what turned out to be a replica of a bomb in his backyard.

Police were called out to the home along Northeast 80th Street and Bayshore Court, Tuesday evening.

"They asked me to stay outside. Meantime, cars and cars and cars and big truck, the bomb squad start coming in," said Omar Ali. "Finally, after some time, they told me it's about this."

Turns out, Ali is an artist. He said he was making a replica of a World War II-era bomb out of some metal drums for a client.
