Civilians find drone in Key Largo

KEY LARGO, Fla. (WSVN) -- Boaters in South Florida have found a military drone floating in the water near the shores of Key Largo on Sunday.
The 20-foot-long orange military aircraft reportedly drifted about 800 miles before being recovered by Coast Guard officials.
The unmanned aircraft was found floating off Key Largo over the weekend.
Carlton Adams spotted the drone while boating, grabbed his cellphone, then called authorities after noticing who the drone belonged to. "We went to take a closer look at it," he said. "It definitely looks like military hardware. We saw the Air Force insignia."
The Air Force said the practice drone, a subsale aerial target, was shot down by a missile in January.
The Air Force sent a truck to Key Largo to recover it, so it can be refurbished to fly again.
