POMPANO BEACH, Fla. (WSVN) -- Police are searching for the parents of a toddler found wandering alone in the street.

The little girl is believed to be about 2 years old. She was found wearing pink shorts and a yellow top. Police had to change her diaper and her clothes, but otherwise, she appears to be in good health.

The toddler was found wandering the 2800 block of Northwest First Court at around 10:15 a.m., Friday. Police said they are not looking at this as a crime, they only want to find her parents. "We really just want to find her parents," said Sgt. Noel Mercado of the Broward Sheriff's Office. "We don't know if a crime's been committed. Nobody's in trouble at this point. We know these things happen. It happens on a regular basis. We just want to find the parents and get her home."

The child is currently in the care of deputies at the Pompano Beach substation.

If you know who this child is or know her parents, police are asking you call Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS for the sake of convenience, not that there has been a crime committed.
