Man denied bond in fatal nursing home stabbing

SOUTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, Fla. (WSVN) -- The man who stabbed a janitor to death at a local nursing home faced a judge Friday.
Gregorio Rojas faced a judge Friday morning after he stabbed Danilo Salazar at a nursing home on Thursday. Salazar later died at the hospital. "And you're being charged with one count of first degree murder," said the judge. "You will be held no bond. Court finds probable cause."
Rojas was visiting his brother, a resident at the Coral Reef Nursing and Rehabilitation, located on 9800 block of Southwest 152nd Street, when he attacked Salazar from behind with a kitchen knife.
According to the police report, the men had an argument a few months ago and believe it may have led to Salazar's murder.
Salazar was airlifted to Kendall Regional Trauma Center where he would die of his injuries.
Co-workers said Salazar was a hard working man. "Wonderful Person. I don't think he deserved this," said Gilda Just.
The motive for the murder remains unclear.
Just said safety at the facility has never been an issue. "We have security, we have everything. I don't know what happened," she said.
Salazar lived with his wife and child at a Southwest Miami-Dade home. His wife is making funeral arrangements.
