Woman screams at judge in bond court
MIAMI (WSVN) -- A woman accused of trying to kill her husband was in court Monday morning, where she screamed at a judge and then refused to leave.
Blanca Regalado faced Miami-Dade Circuit Court Judge Jorge Rodriguez-Chomat where he denied her bond after she admitted to stabbing her husband multiple times at their home.
After hearing she was not granted bond, Regalado, who was wheelchair bound after she claimed her husband broke her leg, started screaming, "Please don't, no." She also refused to leave the courtroom as bailiffs tried to control her.
Late Friday night, police responded to 1800 N. Bayshore Dr. Apt. 4201 where they found Regalado's husband suffering from several stab wounds. Paramedics transported him to a local hospital where he remains listed in stable condition.
Authorities took Regalado into custody.
According to the arrest form, Regalado told police she stabbed her husband because he abused her, and he had a drinking problem. Miami-Dade Police Officer Freddie Cruz said, "She did make spontaneous statements to our officers that she is tired of him, so she stabbed him, and he is a drunk."
When Regalado was told there was no bond she responded hysterically telling the judge her husband had broken her leg but this is not the first outburst Judge Rodriguez-Chomat has seen recently. Penelope Soto, 18, had some harsh words for him and flipped him off after he increased her bond. Judge Rodriguez-Chomat gave her 30 days in the county jail, but then reconsidered after three days when she appeared before him with a tearful and emotional apology.
Regalado will be back in front of Judge Rodriguez-Chomat, Tuesday.
