Local organization grants boy's wish
FORT PIERCE, Fla. (WSVN) -- A Fort Pierce boy with a heart condition was able to spend a week in the Florida Keys thanks to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
"My wish was to go saltwater fishing to catch dolphin, go to the Florida Keys for a week," said Michael Lamore.
Twelve-year-old Lamore suffers from a heart defect but loves the ocean. Thanks to the non-profit organization, Lamore's wish came true. "We're really proud of the community impact that we have and the impact we have on these children's lives," said Make-A-Wish South Florida Vice President Richard Kelly.
There are 62 Make-A-Wish organizations across the country.
South Florida's chapter is the fourth group to grant at least 9,000 wishes.
