Rain causes minor damage to business
SOUTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, Fla. (WSVN) -- Several South Florida businesses have been left to clean up a mess after heavy rain fell on parts of Miami-Dade County, Monday.
Seven businesses in a Southwest Miami-Dade shopping center were affected due to the rain, Monday afternoon. A construction project was underway in the shopping center, making matters worse.
Employees and owners had to clean up a wet mess after rain flooded their business at around 1:30 p.m. They also needed to set up buckets to prevent any flooding inside.
Due to the construction project, many businesses had their roofs exposed. Business owners said the construction company should have protected them better. "They should have prepared for the rain. This is Miami, I mean it rains almost everyday, and it's the first day of spring now, so they should have prepared for this," said owner Miguel Ferrer.
The company provided some with fans and dryers to help them with the cleaning process.
There were also reports of pea-size hail that fell along Biscayne Boulevard, near 66th and 67th Streets.
A flood advisory was issued for Miami-Dade County but has since been canceled.
