North Perry Airport to stay open for now
BROWARD, Fla. (WSVN) -- The control tower at North Perry Airport will remain open until further notice.
The airport was set to close this weekend due to federal budget cuts. Broward commissioners voted to allow the Broward County Aviation Department to spend the $43,000 a month needed to keep it operating until at least the end of September.
The FAA plans to shut down over 100 air traffic controllers, two of them being the Opa-Locka Airport and North Perry Airport flight towers.
