Man escapes robbery at gas station
MIAMI (WSVN) -- A man who refused to give into a robber's demands, managed to fight back and escape with a bullet in his shoulder.
The 25-year-old victim was at a Chevron gas station on 79th Street and Northwest 12th Avenue in Miami, when according to police two men tried to rob him on Saturday morning.
In surveillance video from outside the gas station you can see the two suspects with a woman. The suspect then appears to size up his subject, re-joins his friends and then sprints back over to execute the robbery. Most of the action is blocked from view by the gas pump.
When the victim tries to take off in his car, police said, the suspect jumped in the vehicle and shot the victim in the shoulder.
While wailing in agony from the bullet in his shoulder, the victim managed to drive away and make it to Miami Shores before being found by rescuers in his vehicle. By then the suspects were gone.
The two suspects are still on the run.
The victim has been in and out of surgery since the incident and is expected to make a full recovery.
