CDC finds 'unsanitary' conditions on Carnival cruise ship
MIAMI (WSVN) -- A newly released Centers for Disease Control report reveals unsanitary conditions on a Carnival cruise ship.
The 2,000 passenger cruise ship Fascination failed a health inspection back in February after docking at a US port and receiving an unplanned inspection.
The CDC conducts this type of inspection twice a year. According to the report, inspectors found: flies on food, such as raw hamburgers and a juice dispenser drain, food waste leaking from containers, sneeze guards missing from the salad bar and not enough chlorine in the ship's water park.
Carnival Cruise Lines said all problems were fixed within 24 hours.
A couple months ago, Triumph was stranded for days in the Gulf of Mexico when an engine fire cut power to the ship.
