Police search for motorcycle shop robber
DAVIE, Fla. (WSVN) -- Police are searching for a man who was caught on surveillance video breaking into a South Florida motorcycle shop.
Elan Hava works hard at running his motorcycle shop in Davie, but his shop was robbed Thursday morning. "It's a shame that you try to build a business and be honest to people to make a living and people just don't want to work," said Hava.
A man wearing a mask and dressed all in black was seen on surveillance video throwing a brick into the front window of the shop. He entered the shop and went straight for the cash register. "I think it's someone that knew what he was doing. He aimed to the expensive stuff. He went straight to the cashier," said Hava.
Hava said the crook was inside for only 30 seconds but stole several helmets worth $700 and a case full of GoPro cameras. "It was a quick hit-and-run, that's what he did," he said.
Hava said it must have been someone who knew the store and knew exactly where things where. "As a business owner, you always need to be prepared for something like this so we were ready for that, but not all the way," said Hava.
Hava hopes police catch the crook and said, "I'm hoping that the person who did this, which is laughing now, will stop laughing. That's what I'm hoping."
