Miami-Dade hit with heavy rain
MIAMI (WSVN) -- Rainy weather left much of Miami-Dade flooded, Tuesday afternoon.
The National Weather Service issued an urban flood advisory for east central Miami-Dade County around 11 a.m. on Tuesday. Later in the day, a flash flood warning was issued for the same area that lasted until 3:45 p.m.
Some locations that experienced flooding included Coral Gables, South Miami and Westchester.
Areas of Indian Creek Drive flooded north of 63rd Street Causeway.
7News received reports of almost 10 inches of rain around parts of Coral Gables. In some streets, the water was so high it made heavy manhole covers rattle.
In Miami, crossing guards were knee-deep in water as they helped children across the street on their way home from school.
The flash flood warning was canceled for east central Miami-Dade, shortly before 4 p.m.
