So. Fla. students build "supercar" to race jet
OPA-LOCKA, Fla. (WSVN) -- Applying what they learned during the school year, several South Florida students built a "supercar" to race against a jet plane.
Disappointment set in when the kit car overheated on its way to the starting line at Opa-Locka Airport. "It was pretty disappointing," said Joshua Glottman.
The students used another car, but it was beaten by the jet. The young competitors will have a second chance to take on their winged opponent. The race will be rescheduled using their original car.
