Teams compete for convention center renovations
MIAMI BEACH, Fla. (WSVN) -- A couple of developers revealed competing plans in hopes of bringing big change to Miami Beach.
Developer Portman Holdings was the first to unveil renderings for what they hope will be the new Miami Beach Convention Center.
It also includes plans for an 800-room hotel, retail space and the renovation of the Jackie Gleason Theater.
The Ace South Beach Team unveiled renderings of its $1.2 billion project.
Each team were granted four hours to give their presentations.
The Miami Beach Commission is expected to select the winner in June.
