Local murder suspect convicted of hiring hit man
CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. (WSVN) -- A Coral Springs murder suspect was convicted of trying to hire a hit man while behind bars.
Munawar Toha was sentenced to 30 years in prison for the crime.
Police said Toha thought an undercover detective was a hired killer.
The 63-year-old allegedly plotted to kill witnesses who were prepared to testify against him.
Those witnesses, are set to take the stand when Toha goes on trial for the murder of his wife.
Officials said they have surveillance video of him shoving a family car, containing his wife's body, into a lake.
The next hearing for the murder case will be on June 24.
